The Benefits of NAD+ Therapy - IV & Injection

What if you could fuel your body, boost your energy and cognitive function, improve your mood, and reverse the symptoms of aging while simply sitting in a chair and reading a good book? With NAD IV injection therapy, you can get all these benefits and more with the simple prick of a needle.

Whether you’re a professional athlete looking to improve your performance naturally or a student seeking to improve your memory, NAD IV therapy may be able to help. This innovative treatment has gained popularity among celebrities, athletes, and everyday people because it offers an assortment of benefits with very minimal side effects and no down time.

What is NAD Therapy and What is a NAD Drip?
NAD regenerative therapy, or NAD IV therapy, is a holistic treatment where the coenzyme NAD+ (the oxidized form of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is administered directly into a patient’s bloodstream via an IV drip. This naturally existing coenzyme is derived from vitamin B3 (niacin) and is used by the body in the production of cellular energy.
Essentially, NAD IV treatment provides the body with ample fuel on the cellular level, by increasing levels of ATP (adenosine triphosphate).  With higher levels of NAD and ATP, the body can carry out a wide range of functions including an improved ability to regulate metabolism, resist stressors, repair DNA, endocrine signaling and cell apoptosis (programmed cell death.)

What are the Advantages of NAD+ IV Therapy?

NAD IV therapy is still being researched and scientists are finding more and more ways this coenzyme aids in the healthy function of our bodies. The array of NAD IV benefits we are currently aware of include:
  • Boosts cognitive function
  • Prevents weight gain and aids in weight management
  • Improves mood
  • Reduces the symptoms of depression
  • Boosts memory
  • Reduces pain caused by inflammation
  • Improves athletic performance
  • Helps maintain muscle health
  • Boosts energy
  • Reverses certain symptoms of aging
  • Reduces wrinkles
  • Improves overall skin appearance
NAD+ IV therapy has also been shown to aid in the addiction recovery process. By reducing withdrawal symptoms, this therapy can make the cessation process easier and give patients a better chance of avoiding relapse. It is, however, important to note that NAD IV therapy is not a cure or treatment for addiction itself.

NAD IV Therapy for Addiction

One of the most exciting innovations in recent years is the development of NAD treatment for addiction. Abuse of alcohol, illicit drugs, and opioids takes a tremendous toll—physically, mentally, and emotionally—and NAD therapy can be a valuable component of a comprehensive rehabilitation program. That’s because the powerful benefits of the coenzyme also work well at repairing a mind and body damaged by sustained substance use.
With substance abuse, drugs or alcohol trigger the neurotransmitters that send a rush of pleasure to the brain. Cravings kick in as the brain becomes hooked on that high, which leads to further drug or alcohol consumption. As substance abuse progresses, the neurotransmitters become damaged, and dependency can lead to addiction. NAD IV addiction therapy can aid the recovery process because it binds to those neurotransmitters, disrupting the cycle of cravings and withdrawal symptoms. When the body isn’t constantly battling these impulses, it has the chance to heal and decrease its dependence on substances. This can bolster the odds for a successful recovery, and potentially reduce the chances of a relapse.
In addition to mitigating withdrawal and cravings, there are other NAD IV benefits for treating addiction:

✔  Detoxes the body of substances
✔  Helps replenish the body’s natural stores of NAD that may be low due to addiction
✔  Boosts cognitive function for renewed focus and mental acuity
✔  Restores higher energy levels & reduces fatigue
✔  Improves mood and outlook
✔ Helps repair addiction-damaged neurotransmitters
✔  Promotes overall physical healing and recovery from substance abuse

NAD IV treatment for addiction is also thought to be highly effective because of its delivery system. Unlike oral medications or supplements, the NAD goes straight to the bloodstream for  100% bioavailability to the trillions of cells in the body. While NAD IV therapy is not a cure-all for addiction on its own, it shows great promise when used as a complementary treatment during rehabilitation.

NAD (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) offers several benefits in combatting adrenal fatigue:

1. Energy production: NAD plays a crucial role in the production of ATP (adenosine triphosphate), the primary source of cellular energy. By increasing NAD levels, the body can enhance energy production, which may help alleviate fatigue experienced with adrenal fatigue.

2. Stress reduction: Adrenal fatigue is often associated with chronic stress, which can deplete the body's resources. NAD helps regulate the stress response by supporting the function of the adrenal glands, which produce stress hormones such as cortisol. By maintaining optimal NAD levels, the body's stress response can be better managed.

3. Cellular repair and regeneration: NAD is involved in DNA repair and maintenance, which is essential for healthy cellular function. Adrenal fatigue can lead to cellular damage and impaired regeneration, but NAD supplementation may support the repair and regeneration processes, promoting overall health and recovery.

4. Mitochondrial support: Adrenal fatigue can negatively impact mitochondrial function, leading to decreased energy production. NAD is essential for mitochondrial health and function, helping to optimize energy production within cells. By increasing NAD levels, mitochondrial function can be enhanced, potentially improving energy levels and reducing fatigue.

5. Neurotransmitter balance: NAD is involved in the synthesis and regulation of neurotransmitters, such as dopamine and serotonin, which play a crucial role in mood regulation. Adrenal fatigue can disrupt neurotransmitter balance, leading to mood swings and emotional instability. Adequate NAD levels can support neurotransmitter balance, promoting emotional well-being.

NAD has been found to have several uses for cognitive support. Here are some of its potential benefits:

1. Energy production: NAD plays a critical role in the production of energy within cells. By supporting cellular metabolism, NAD can enhance brain function and improve cognitive performance.

2. Neuroprotection: NAD has been shown to have neuroprotective effects, meaning it helps protect brain cells from damage and degeneration. This can be beneficial for maintaining cognitive function and preventing cognitive decline.

3. Anti-inflammatory properties: NAD has anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce inflammation in the brain. Chronic inflammation has been linked to cognitive impairment and neurodegenerative diseases, so reducing inflammation can support cognitive health.

4. DNA repair: NAD is involved in DNA repair mechanisms, which are essential for maintaining the integrity of the genome. DNA damage can lead to cognitive dysfunction, and NAD's role in DNA repair can help preserve cognitive function.

5. Mitochondrial function: NAD is involved in the regulation of mitochondrial function, which is crucial for energy production and overall brain health. By supporting mitochondrial function, NAD can enhance cognitive performance.

FAQs

What Should I Expect During IV Therapy?

Each NAD IV therapy session lasts approximately 90 minutes up to three hours. At the beginning of your treatment, your clinician will take your blood pressure and review your medical history before placing an IV line attached to the NAD drip into your arm. Once the drip has started you can read a book, watch a movie, or listen to music and relax.

You may feel a slight tightening sensation in your chest while the NAD IV is being administered. Some patients also experience mild nausea or a mild headache, but these symptoms can be mitigated by slowing down the infusion rate. You’ll want to let your clinician know if you begin to feel any of these symptoms, so they can make any necessary adjustments to ensure your comfort.
After treatment, a small bandage will be placed on the injection site. This can be removed as soon as any bleeding has stopped.

Patients may also receive treatment via an injection in the muscle or a subcutaneous injection in the comfort of the patient's home.

When Will I See Results?

One of the reasons NAD IV therapy appeals to so many people is that it requires zero recovery time and many patients see noticeable results the same day they receive the infusions. Some patients experience a feeling of dreaminess or a boost of energy immediately after treatment, though these should not impair you from returning to your normal activities.
